6 PM - 8 PM Gam at the Marriott Ballroom Salon A. There will be a cash bar with the CBA providing cheese and crackers and a catboat slideshow.  For inclusion in the slide show, send your best sailing photos to Neil & Carol Titcomb (carol.ticomb@catboats.org).

8:15 AM Registration begins in the Marriott Ballroom foyer.  There will be a Starbucks Coffee Shop in the Hotel for your enjoyment.

8:45 AM – 10 AM Catboat Sailing for Beginners – Mystic Ballroom Salon B – Start your annual meeting off right with an interactive discussion for those new to catboats, focused on the handling of the gaff rig, including the basic maneuvers for getting underway and returning safely. Hosted by lifelong sailor and waterman Bob Luckraft and author John Conway.

8:45 AM – 10 AM So . . . You've Just Been Promoted to Captain, Now What? – Mystic Ballroom Salon A – Henry Marx of Landfall Navigation returns to walk us through safely getting ashore if your skipper should become incapacitated.

9 AM – 5 PM All Catboat Resource Show - This year’s displays will flow between the Marriott Ballroom Salons ABC and DEF.  As usual we will have a fantastic group of catboat enthusiasts displaying and selling everything from anchors to artwork and more.

9 AM – 10 AM Race/Rendezvous Scheduling – Conference Room 5 – Race dates and scheduling advice from Lyn Behne (Kittyhawk) the Race/Rendezvous schedule will be displayed after the meeting.

10:15 AM – 11:30 AM Basic Diesel Maintenance – Mystic Ballroom Salon B – Hosted by Mack Boring Engines, learn some of what Mack Boring has been "figuring out the hard way" for generations.

10:15 AM – 11:30 AM Fine Art with Peter Arguimbau– Mystic Ballroom Salon A – Learn tricks and techniques for painting small vignettes while on a catboat.

Noon Luncheon – Marriott Ballroom Salon D – During the luncheon, CBA President Tim Lund conducts the annual meeting followed by the presentation of the Annual Association Awards.

Don't forget to cast your vote for the deserving catboater(s) in these important CBA awards!

1:30 PM – 2:30 PM Featured Speaker – Mystic Ballroom Salon D – Roland Barth (2009 Henry Plummer Award recipient) tell the story of his incredible voyage from Florida to Massachusetts in a 17' catboat.  After the presentation, Roland will be available to sign copies of his new book Tales of the Intracoastal Waterway, published in conjunction with the CBA.

3:15 PM – 4:30 PM Catboat Builders Seminar – Mystic Ballroom Salon B – This year features Arey's Pond Boatyard.  This seminar gives catboat builders the chance to showcase their history, people, products and future.

3:15 PM – 4:30 PM. Basic Line Handling and Fancy Rope Work – Mystic Ballroom Salon A – Marlinspike artist, Vince Brennan, shows us the ropes.

'til 5 PM Cash bar and Sociability at the All Catboat Resource Show.

7 PM – 10 PM Catboat Ball – Enjoy a fabulous buffet dinner and dancing. A separate ticket is required for this event.

8:45 AM – 10:15 AM Herreshoff Marine Museum/America's Cup Hall of Fame www.herreshoff.org – Preserving the rich history of the Herreshoff Legacy and the America's Cup.  This museum is home to the oldest know catboat, SPRITE, who will be celebrating her 150th birthday next summer.  Details of the celebration at the museum will be revealed.  Plan on sailing to Bristol, RI to be part of the excitement next season.

 

Cost for the meeting is $40 per person (kids 15 and under $10).  The deadline for registration is January 22, 2010.  If payment is received after that date, the cost per person is $50.

Cost for the Ball is $45 per person.
