This year the Menger Catboat Messabout is proud to be gathering at Blackbeard Sailing Club in New Bern, North Carolina. Weather your catboat was built by Bill Menger or another fine builder of these traditional craft, we invite you to come sail with us on the beautiful Neuse River.

Your adventure begins where the Upper Broad Creek meets the Neuse. This is the home waters of Blackbeard Sailing Club and our base camp for the weekend.

At over one and a half miles wide, the Neuse offers excellent sailing with no tides and plenty to explore. Five miles upriver is the historic waterfront  town of New Bern, once the state capital, now a vibrant art destination.

Down river the Neuse opens up into the Pamlico Sound and beyond that, the outer banks.
