SUMMARY:Wickford\, RI Catboat Rendezvous
DESCRIPTION:The race typically kicks off at 1:00 PM with boats rounding Hope and the Plumb Beach Lighthouse\, concluding at around 5:00 at the Wickford Yacht Club\, followed by a cookout and awards. Bring your own food to grill\, we supply the drinks. There is a modest entry fee to defray the cost of the open bar. \nWickford is an historic costal village with among the highest concentration of 18th century homes in the Northeast. The colony of Rhode Island began here – RI founder Roger Williams original trading post was in Wickford. Nearby are Smith’s Castle and the homestead and museum of Gilbert Stuart\, known for his iconic portrait of George Washington.
